Tidehaven helps you prepare for birth with clear information, practical comfort skills and a steady person at your side, so the choices you make on the day are truly yours.
We teach childbirth classes, provide labor and postpartum doula care and offer lactation counseling for families across Northern and Central New Jersey and New York City.

Mara Ellison

Mara has loved birth and babies since the arrival of her own first child, and she teaches from the belief that birth can be a healing, empowering experience.
She became a certified childbirth educator in 1991 and has since added birth doula, postpartum doula and lactation educator training.
