Doula Services

The early weeks bring a lot at once: getting to know your baby, working out feeding, recovering and finding your footing as a parent. A Tidehaven doula walks beside you through all of it.

What a birth doula does

Your doula joins you in late pregnancy to learn your hopes, stays with you continuously through labor, and visits after birth to help everything land softly. We do not replace your provider or your partner — we make both more effective.

Before labor

Two prenatal visits: birth preferences, comfort-measure rehearsal, hospital logistics, and a plan for when labor begins.

During labor

Continuous in-person support — position changes, counter-pressure, breathing cues, advocacy language, and calm for the whole room.

After birth

A postpartum visit within two weeks: feeding help, birth processing, recovery guidance, and referrals you can trust.

Postpartum & lactation care

  • Overnight & daytime shifts — sleep, rest, and a held household while you recover.
  • Feeding support — latch, positioning, pumping plans, and honest answers at 3 a.m. and 3 p.m.
  • Sibling & partner coaching — so the whole family finds its rhythm, not just the baby.

Mara knew exactly when to speak and when to simply press on my back. My husband says he could never have done it without her — neither could I.
